Caro Aaron Sorkin, giovedì ho provato a vedere in seconda serata su Rai 3 il primo episodio della stagione 2 di The Newsroom e mi sono addormentato dopo 15 minuti.
Ho provato a rivederlo su Rai Replay ma ho saltellato da un momento all’altro in cerca di qualche spunto interessante che potesse catturare il mio interesse ma niente da fare.
Se è possibile, l’inizio della seconda stagione è ancor più deludente dell’inizio della prima. A quanto pare anche a te non è piaciuta la tua scrittura come hai confessato in questo domanda e risposta con una fan:

Aaron Sorkin: I’ll do my best. First I want to say I’m very grateful to HBO for inviting us back for a third season. There were two things I needed to consider before I could bring the show back after Season II–one was logistical and the other creative. I’d made a number of commitments to movie projects and the studio was waiting patiently. That was the logistical problem. The creative problem was this–While I was and still am very proud of the work the cast and crew did during the first two seasons, I wasn’t satisfied with how I was writing. Something was off. I never felt completely comfortable in my chair. To use a baseball metaphor, there was something wrong with my swing. Once I’d satisfied my other commitments, my first inclination was to say thanks but no thanks to HBO’s offer of a third season. But then I really wanted one more chance to get it right. I’m glad I did. I think this season shows the best of what The Newsroom was meant to be and I hope I don’t disappoint you. Thanks a lot for your question.
Caro Aaron Sorkin, in attesa di vedere la “entusiasmante” terza ed ultima stagione di The Newsroom, ti do atto che dire “I wasn’t satisfied with how I was writing. Something was off. I never felt completely comfortable in my chair. To use a baseball metaphor, there was something wrong with my swing” è una di quelle confessioni da grande protagonista dello showbiz. Forse The Newsroom non mancherà a me e nemmeno a te se rileggi dialoghi come questo:
